Abstract:
In this paper the author analyzes basic stylistic tendency in jazz after the year 2000. In the confrontation with foreign trends it points to the specifics of the Slovak jazz development. The core of the work is an analysis of the composition Moonday written by trumpeter Lukáš Oravec from the second studio album – Piotrology (2015) in the neo-bop modern mainstream style. Using stylistic, harmonic and form analysis, the author points to the features of Slovak jazz.
