About Journal

Musicologica is an international, peer-reviewed, open-access scholarly journal. Its issues are freely and publicly accessible online immediately upon release. The journal is published by the Department of Musicology, Faculty of Arts, Comenius University, and has appeared once or twice annually since 2008. Its primary aim is to disseminate the outcomes of current musicological research, with a particular emphasis on Central and Eastern Europe. The journal covers a broad range of musicological disciplines in the fields of jazz, rock music, pop music, musical theatre, systematic musicology, contemporary music, folk music, and early music. It disseminates the outcomes of fundamental research in transcultural musicology, ethnomusicology, systematic musicology, and historical musicology. In addition to publishing academic research, Musicologica also seeks to make musicological scholarship accessible to a wider readership. All submitted manuscripts undergo a rigorous double-blind peer-review process.
